Name: Tvaughn Holness
About: My name is Tyvaughn Holness and I am currently studying Electrical Engineering in my 3rd year at McMaster. I joined NSBE because I wanted to inspire other young black youth with the courage and drive to pursue their own passions, whether it be in Engineering or in any STEM field. Having been awarded the Morley Douglas and Ruby Isabel Leek Scholarship through the Black Business and Professional Association in my first year, and then the William Hubbard Memorial Award in my second year, which also gave me the opportunity to work for Hydro-One, I feel that I can accomplish great things with everyone at NSBE. We all have the same level of commitment to making McMaster a place that celebrates diversity. Outside of school, I am interested in technology and it’s affects across the globe, from renewable tech such as electric cars paired with automation to the blockchain and its application in the financial sector. I’m also never a person to turn down a game of ultimate frisbee or badminton, athletics for me is just as important as school.
